Medine Moussounga Keener

African Woman's Struggle
A Personal Journey from Congo to America
recording by Medine Moussounga Keener

Dr. Medine Moussounga Keener shares a personal journey few in the Western world hear very often. Her life of faith in God's promises and provisions will inspire, just as her life of struggle will inform. Born to Christian parents, Medine observed her women friends suffer unspeakable abuse, and she herself is a survivor of domestic violence and marital infidelity and betrayal. Yet, through each tragedy, Medine's life of prayer and faith carries her through as God sends her a new husband and a country in which to serve.

MEDINE MOUSSOUNGA KEENER received her Ph.D. from the University of Paris and is currently teaching a women's history course at Eastern University. Having spent 18 months as a refugee in Congo-Brazzaville, she has first hand experience concerning the plight of African women. She lives with her husband, Craig, and their son, David, in Philadelphia.
