Helping Christians Set Trends for Oppressed Women in India

Helping Christians Set Trends for Oppressed Women in India
recording by Ellen Alexander & Beulah Wood

Christians in India--especially women--face tremendous challenges that many Western Christians are unaware of. Ellen Alexander and Beulah Wood speak from their experience living, working and ministering with Indian women and men. They describe some of the ways the church has supported women, but also ways in which the church can do much more.

ELLEN ALEXANDER, a teacher of ethics and a long-time voluntary worker with the Union of Evangelical Students of India, recently completed her M.Th. from the University of Wales. The mother of two teen-agers, Ellen has a great concern for the women of her country. Ellen and Beulah Wood oversee Men, Women and God in India.

BEULAH WOOD, B.D., D.Min, has worked in India and Nepal since her arrival in 1968. Widowed young, she raised her four daughters, became a writer, and returned to Bangalore, India, in 1996. Beulah now lectures at SAIACS, a post-graduate Bible college, and writes with a special interest in women's issues. Beulah and Ellen Alexander oversee Men, Women and God in India.
