CHARLES READ teaches liturgy and shares in the teaching of systematic theology at Manchester University. Before joining the staff, Charles was the head of religious studies at a secondary school. He then trained for ordination at St. John's College, in Nottingham. He served in a wide variety of parishes in Manchester Diocese. He has been a member of General Synod, and serves with WATCH (Women and the Church). He is working on a Ph.D. in inclusive language. Charles is married to Judith and they have two sons.
